Privacy

Last updated: 2 September 2026. The short version: using this site requires no account, and the only measurement is cookieless page-view counting and a count of clicks on the Layerbase button.

What we collect

Nothing tied to you. The stack picker runs without an account, and the answers you give exist only in your browser and in the share link the tool produces — they are never written to a database on our side. Opening a shared card simply decodes the answers from its URL. The optional “About you” questions on a card, and the list of stacks you have opened, are stored in your browser and nowhere else.

Analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics, which counts page views and one custom event (a click on the “Layerbase” button on a card) without cookies, without cross-site tracking, and without storing anything that identifies you. A visitor is distinguished only by a hash that is discarded after the session. Links to layerbase.com carry a source tag so Layerbase can see the visit came from here; that tag names this site, not you. No advertising pixels, no fingerprinting, no other third-party trackers.

Share links

A stack card's URL encodes the answers that produced it. That is what makes cards shareable without us storing anything — but it also means anyone you send a link to can see the answers behind it. Share links contain your wizard answers and nothing else: no name, no email, no identifier.

Cookies and local storage

We set no cookies for visitors. Three things are kept in your browser's local storage and never leave your device: your light-or-dark theme preference, your answers to the optional “About you” questions on a card (how you build, budget, platforms you have used and how you rate them, and so on), and the stacks you have opened, as a list of their share codes. None of it is sent to us or to anyone else. “Clear my answers” on a card and “Clear all” on the homepage remove it, as does clearing site data in your browser.

Hosting

The site is served by Vercel, whose infrastructure keeps standard short-lived server logs (including IP addresses) for operating and securing the service, as described in Vercel's privacy policy. We do not use those logs to identify visitors.

Who we share data with

We do not sell personal data — and given the above, we hold essentially none to sell. Nothing is shared with third parties beyond the hosting described here.

Affiliation

Project Next App is built by the team behind Layerbase. Recommendations may include Layerbase products; where they do, the exit cost of that pick is shown on the same card, by the same rules, as every other vendor's.
